Gary Hinton is an England Squash Advanced Level 3 Squash & Racketball Coach and an LTA‑Accredited PadelMBA Elite Head Coach, bringing a wealth of experience to both sports. Gary has been a leading figure at Winchester Racquets & Fitness for more than 15 years, heading up the squash programme before becoming Head of Padel.
A former Winchester Open, Hampshire Open, Jamaican Open, and Welsh Junior Squash Champion, Gary draws on his high‑level playing background to develop athletes of all ages and abilities. He has coached numerous junior and adult players at both county and national level, producing multiple champions through his performance‑driven yet adaptable approach.
Gary’s coaching philosophy centres on doing what’s right for the player. Whether creating a fun, encouraging environment for developing players or adopting a performance‑focused structure for competitive athletes, he prioritises identifying each individual’s needs and delivering sessions that help them progress effectively.
His key areas of expertise include junior development and performance, adult team coaching, and helping intermediate club players advance their game. Gary has also built and delivered a full programme of padel, and squash events, mix‑ins and coaching opportunities designed to strengthen member engagement and community participation.
He also continues to compete, representing the Men’s First Team and Hampshire.
Gary offers individual coaching, shared lessons and group sessions for both adults and juniors.
