WRF enjoyed a fantastic result at the LTA National Junior Padel Championships, held at Just Padel in Derby on 29th and 30th October over half term, with nine of our juniors qualifying for the national competition.
There were some impressive performances across the events, with Joe, Inigo, Seb, Claudia and Scout all reaching the quarter-finals of their respective 14&U competitions.
The standout achievement came with WRF juniors claiming national titles in their events.
14&U National Champions
Seb and Tom were crowned 14&U National Champions following a high-quality and hard-fought final. After losing the first set 4-6, the pair fought back to take the second 7-5 before securing the title with a 10-3 victory in the Championship Tie-Break.
Girls’ 12&U National Champions
Astrid, partnering Fiora Smallwood from Oxford, also enjoyed success in the Girls’ 12&U event. The pair produced an excellent performance in the final, winning 6-2, 7-5 to take the national title.
Congratulations to all nine WRF juniors who qualified and represented the club at the championships. A brilliant achievement and a great reflection of the hard work being put in by our junior players!
